Tonight's INK online meet up.

The first INK online meet up is tonight from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. I hope to see a post from INK members or an email saying you're here with me. If not, well, I'm here working on my NaNoWriMo novel for the year. What are you working on? Something old? Something new? Something you or someone came up with at the last minute? Outline or not? Winging it? And how often has the NaNoWriMo.org site crashed for you? (I'm at six and counting.)

Anyone looking forward to OryCon next week? Or do you have a 'can take it or leave it' attitude? Looking forward to your next writer/author convention/event/out of town talk?

Hey, I'm here. I'm working on a combination of old and new work. I already have two short stories started and a lot of back story and history and a bit of outline work down on each so I'll remember the point and direction of each. Each story was a last minute invention.

I haven't begun work on The Car Novel but I have jotted down notes that have been bouncing around in my head over the past ten days. Plus, I officially have an ending to work toward now. That's big news for me.

I'm looking foward to OryCon and the Writer's Workshops. I enjoy meeting the writers and working with the pro authors. I'm going a day early to hole up in my room to work on The Car Novel, quiet time I don't have much of here at home.

Looking ahead, I'm not sure if I'm going anywhere before next year's OryCon. We'll just have to see how things go.

What about you?

Aw man! I was home but I missed the meeting ... didn't read this until after I spent the evening steam cleaning carpet.

I'm also working on a combination of new and old work as part of Nano. I've given myself a pretty lofty goal considering that I'm having trouble finding time to do anything at all around here (never mind writing): 100,000 words for Nano. I'm incredibly inspired by C.S.'s example. Way to go with the word count!!

I'm looking forward to OryCon and the workshops too. I'll only be able to attend Saturday, alas, as I have to work the other days (as far as I know--Sunday is still unscheduled.)

I just got the invite for Radcon recently. I really want to go, but I'm not sure, with work being what it is, that I'll be able to go. Making money is my priority right now, and each day I request off is a day that I won't bring home money we'll need for groceries, etc. It makes me a little sad to think I'll probably miss it, but I can't dwell on that right now.

I've really fallen down on marketing, but that's another thing I can't stress about right now. My focus has to be on putting words on the page. It's a real challenge, but that's sort of the point. Ever since I started working full time, the temptation has been to put writing on the backburner to give myself decompression time.

Well that's a bunch of BS. That's backwards priority, when I look at my overall goals. If my life's goal was to become the best retail employee ever, that would be one thing. But I want to support myself and my family with writing.

So there we have it. I'm now officially working two jobs. It's hard, and I'm tired most of the time, but in the long run it'll be worth it.
